Specialists in dispute resolution for the construction industry.

QSX is a highly specialised boutique firm providing alternative dispute resolution services to the construction industry in South Africa — servicing both local and international clients.

About us

Quantum and delay,
resolved on the evidence.

QSX commenced operations in Durban, South Africa in March 2022 as a highly specialised boutique firm providing alternative dispute resolution services to the construction industry — servicing both local and international clients.

We leverage highly skilled staff together with local and international connections, and we work both independently and in conjunction with other specialists, including some of South Africa's largest law firms and consultancies.

Capabilities

Four disciplines, one specialism.

Our competencies and experience span the full spectrum of alternative dispute resolution available to parties in construction and infrastructure contracts.

01

Expert witness services

Independent expert evidence on quantum and delay — reports prepared to withstand scrutiny, and testimony given with clarity and impartiality. Substantial experience gained alongside leading construction and energy infrastructure lawyers.

02

Adjudication

We understand that adjudication as a dispute resolution mechanism is there to keep the life blood of the industry flowing — cash flow. Speedy, but robust and well-considered decisions from experienced practitioners is what is required. We have the experience and training to quickly get to grips with complicated construction issues and deliver the core competencies for successful adjudications.

03

Arbitration

Informed by postgraduate training in international dispute resolution and being well informed of leading institutional rules, we are keenly aware of the unique complexities of international arbitration, which is underpinned by substantial local experience — acting as experts and also as arbitrators.

04

Mediation

Facilitated, commercially-minded and trusted fair engagement aimed at settling disputes before they consume the programme and the budget — but with the same rigour of analysis behind the scenes, built on a solid multi-decade knowledge repository that only experience can bring.
